The Educational Arts Corporation (EAC) was formed in 2004 to expose K-12 underserved and at-risk students to the arts, including film production, theatre, photography and creative writing. Our goal is to directly engage in the process of learning by using the arts as a creative tool to help students excel in academic subjects. We offer four Artist Residency Programs: Filmmaking 101, Theatre Alive!, MagDesigns and FilmWeb. Through these programs, local artists serve as Resident Artists at participating schools. Resident Artists work with teachers and students during school hours for a semester or annual term. We also have a mobile digital learning lab, DigiMedia, which we transport to participating schools. Since the inception of EAC in 2004, 20 schools have participated in our residency programs. Participating students have produced five short movies, 72 documentaries and 59 theatrical productions. |
